Let us Help
Judgment Mediation Specialists can help you recover your judgment in a few different ways or you pay NOTHING.
One option is that for a fee JMS will help you locate assets of the debtor so you can levy or garnish. We will locate place of employment and or bank accounts. If JMS cannot locate current bank or employment information you retain ownership of the judgment and pay nothing.
The second option is called an "assignment of judgement" in which you assign the judgment to JMS to collect the judgment. If JMS is successful in the collection then the proceeds are split on a predetermined percentage basis.
The third option is that JMS will review the judgment and buy the judgment from you for an agreed amount.
Q: Are you a law firm?
NO. We are not a law firm, nor are we attorneys, and we do not give legal advice. Some law firms/attorneys do offer judgment recovery services. They usually either charge by the hour, or only take judgments on a contingency basis. There is no guarantee of a successful judgment recovery.
Q: Are you a collection agency?
We are not a collection agency. Collection agencies process debts in bulk. They usually do little more than send out nasty letters and make annoying phone calls hoping debtors will pay. Depending which of the options you decide on we can pull credit reports, conduct thorough asset investigations, bank/employment locates and more.
Q: How long is my judgment good for?
In most states, civil money judgments are good for ten years. They may, however, be renewed for various periods of time.
Q: How long will it take to collect my judgment?
This is hard to say. Usually 3-6 months is a good guess. However, depending on the amount and actions that need to be taken it could be as long as several years.
